I'm James. I'm 18, and I just finished my own recruiting process — this year's process, not a story from a decade ago. This fall I start as a freshman at a top-10 JUCO program in the country.
Recruiting almost buried me in busywork. Finding target schools and keeping their info straight took forever. I couldn't tell which camps were actually worth the money. Writing emails to coaches took forever, and when a coach finally wrote back, I didn't know how to respond without overthinking every word. The hours I spent organizing all of that were hours I should have spent training.
